Tony Bellew Praises Tyson Fury Despite Loss to Usyk
In a recent interview, former cruiserweight world champion Tony Bellew praised Tyson Fury despite his loss to Oleksandr Usyk in his bid to become the undisputed heavyweight champion.
Bellew had predicted Usyk would win their battle and expects the rematch to be similar, although he doesn’t rule out Fury winning completely.
Speaking to IFL TV, Bellew said, “Based on the last performance, no, you can’t make a call for that, but has he got a chance 100%?”
Bellew also praised Fury’s impact on the heavyweight division, saying, “What he’s done for heavyweight boxing is huge because, let’s be brutally honest, no one cared about heavyweight boxing… Fury brought his era to an end with his hands.
So, no one can take away what he accomplished in the division.”
He concluded, “I wish him well. I hope he does come back. I hope he’s enjoying life because he deserves to. He’s got a wonderful family, I only wish him well.”
