Prince William expressed gratitude to the British public for their support towards his wife Kate, who recently underwent surgery, and his father King Charles, who was diagnosed with cancer, as he resumed official duties on Wednesday.
Speaking at a gala dinner for London’s Air Ambulance Charity, where guests included Hollywood actor Tom Cruise, William acknowledged the outpouring of kindness during what he described as a medically-focused period for the family.
“It’s fair to say the past few weeks have had a rather ‘medical’ focus. So I thought I’d come to an air ambulance function to get away from it all,” William remarked.
This marked the Prince of Wales’s second public appearance of the day after postponing engagements to care for his three children while Kate recovered from surgery and his father underwent treatment for an enlarged prostate.
