Oleksandr Usyk, the recently crowned undisputed heavyweight champion, achieved this feat by defeating Tyson Fury.
Prior to conquering the heavyweight division, the Ukrainian dominated the cruiserweight limit, establishing himself as a force to be reckoned with.
Usyk transitioned to the heavyweight division by facing Chazz Witherspoon and then taking on Derek Chisora in 2020.
He then set his sights on Anthony Joshua’s unified belts (IBF, WBO, WBA), defeating the British fighter in consecutive bouts.
In his most recent triumph, Usyk claimed Tyson Fury’s WBC strap, ending Fury’s undefeated streak in the process.
In a recent interview with Three Knockdown Rule, Usyk humorously compared Joshua and Fury, saying, “Anthony Joshua has classy boxing.
Greedy Belly, my friend Tyson Fury. It’s like sparkling water, when you open it without shaking it’s good. If you shake it, it [blows]. Sparkling water is Tyson Fury and still water is Anthony Joshua. Tyson’s arms are like two metres, like a rope.”
Usyk acknowledged that Fury posed the toughest challenge in his career but noted that Derek Chisora was the heaviest hitter he has faced.
“I would say toughest fight, yes, but I think biggest punch, no. Derek Chisora, very tough guy. With Derek, I don’t remember which hand if it was left or right but I would block it and it would be like a baseball bat. It was very dangerous.”
