Mike Tyson, a boxing legend, concluded his remarkable career with a record of 50 wins and 6 losses.
Known as ‘Iron Mike,’ he remains one of the most recognizable figures globally, dominating his way to become the undisputed heavyweight champion.
In a surprising turn of events, Tyson will return to professional boxing for the first time since his somewhat disappointing performance against Kevin McBride in 2005.
He is set to face Jake Paul on July 20th at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Prior to this bout, Tyson sat down with Nick Kyrgios to reflect on the inspirations behind his decision to step into the ring.
When asked about his influences, Tyson was quick to name Roberto Duran as his top inspiration.
“Oh, Roberto Duran. Number one, yeah,” Tyson stated.
Kyrgios then inquired about Muhammad Ali’s influence on him, to which Tyson explained that while Ali sparked his interest in boxing, it was Roberto Duran and Sugar Ray Leonard who truly ignited his desire to fight.
“No, Ali caused me to be interested in boxing, but Roberto Duran and Sugar Ray Leonard made me want to fight,” Tyson revealed.
