Anthony Joshua has recently garnered attention by throwing his support behind the YouTuber ahead of the highly anticipated clash between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul.
Scheduled for July 20 and set to be broadcasted live on Netflix, this bout has captured widespread interest, despite its initial classification as an exhibition match.
Speculation surrounding the outcome has surged since Tyson confirmed the fight, with reports suggesting potential changes such as using 16-ounce gloves instead of the usual ten-ounce ones to mitigate the impact of their punches.
There are also rumors circulating about the fight being structured in two-minute rounds.
Despite being labeled an exhibition, Tyson emphasized the seriousness of the encounter, stating, “This is a fight.”
He dismissed notions of Paul’s agility, expressing confidence in his own abilities and readiness for the bout.
Regarding the age gap between the fighters—Tyson at 58 and Paul considerably younger—concerns arose among commissions, leading to the match not being sanctioned as a professional fight.
Nevertheless, with the event given the green light, Joshua shared his perspective, suggesting that Paul may have the upper hand due to his youth.
Joshua remarked, “I personally think it’s really good… Everyone viewing helps. He’s [Mike Tyson] older now. I pray that he comes out healthy. I think Jake Paul because of youth – that’s the only thing.”
