Mike Tyson’s Fight with Jake Paul Postponed Due to Health Issues
The much-anticipated fight between legendary boxer Mike Tyson and social media sensation Jake Paul, originally scheduled for July 20, has been called off.
The cancellation comes as a result of health issues faced by Tyson, who has had to put his training on hold due to a recent medical emergency.
Mike Tyson, famously known as “Iron Mike,” suffered an ulcer flare-up while on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles earlier this week.
The incident required immediate medical assistance from paramedics on board, and Tyson experienced symptoms of nausea and dizziness. Despite his publicist later stating that he was feeling “very good” after receiving treatment, the medical condition has significantly impacted his ability to continue his rigorous training regimen.
Netflix, which was set to broadcast the highly publicized bout, released an official statement announcing the postponement: “Unfortunately, Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will not face off on July 20 as planned.
Tyson’s recent ulcer flare-up has limited his ability to train fully for the next few weeks. The fight will be rescheduled for a later date this year once Mike is able to resume training without limitations, allowing both fighters equal preparation time for this once-in-a-lifetime matchup.”
Mike Tyson, now 57, took to social media to address his fans and provide an update on his condition. “I want to thank my fans around the world for their support and understanding during this time.
Unfortunately, due to my ulcer flare-up, I have been advised by my doctor to lighten my training for a few weeks to rest and recover. My body is in better overall shape than it has been since the 1990s, and I will be back to my full training schedule soon. Jake Paul, this may have bought you some time, but in the end, you will still be knocked out and out of boxing for good. I appreciate everyone’s patience and can’t wait to deliver an unforgettable performance later this year.”
The former world champion, who has been making a remarkable comeback to boxing, emphasized that this postponement is merely a temporary setback. Tyson remains confident in his ability to perform at peak condition once he has fully recovered from his health issue.
