LENNOX LEWIS hasn’t completely ruled out a return to boxing—provided the offer is enticing enough.
The British boxing legend, who retired officially in 2004 after his victory against Vitali Klitschko, remains one of the most celebrated heavyweight champions from the UK.
However, in recent years, Lewis has observed the controversial comebacks of his former opponents, Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield. This has left the 58-year-old open to offers, stating to The Guardian, “As my friend says, I ain’t no fool. I’d 100 per cent consider it if the money talks.”
Despite being retired for two decades, Lewis maintains his fitness through activities like jogging and swimming, as he mentioned, “I ran five miles this morning, swam a couple of lengths, 100m. Then I woke up and took a shower.”
Meanwhile, the boxing world buzzes with Tyson’s impending return to the ring against Jake Paul on July 20 in Texas. Tyson, now 58, hasn’t fought professionally in nearly two decades but remains a formidable force. With Paul being 31 years younger, Lewis expresses concern for the YouTuber-turned-boxer, noting Tyson’s power and ability to close the distance in the ring.
Despite Paul’s record and recent wins, Lewis cautions, “If Jake Paul gets hit by one of those punches, he’s going to feel it. Tyson still knows how to punch, as you can see when he’s hitting a bag.
