Isaac Akuffo, famously known as Koo Ntakra, has recently disclosed that he did not receive compensation from Sarkodie for his contribution to the 2016 track “Trumpet.” Speaking during an interview on DLFM 106.9, the talented rapper expressed that despite his involvement in the song, he never received any financial acknowledgment from Sarkodie, whether in the form of royalties or a token of gratitude.
Koo Ntakra, renowned for his proficiency in native language rap, delivered a remarkable verse with his distinctive rap style on the track, which is now seven years old.
“Trumpet” is a rap cypher-themed song accompanied by a music video, featuring other notable artists such as Teephlow, Medikal, Donzy, Strongman, and Pappy Kojo.
Interestingly, one notable talent absent from the song was Kofi Kinaata, whose absence raised eyebrows among fans due to his unique rap style infused with “Fante” vibes.
However, Koo Ntakra, addressing the “Trumpet” song for the first time since 2016, revealed that despite not receiving financial compensation from Sarkodie, the song significantly bolstered his career by opening numerous opportunities for him.
He emphasized that the exposure and prestige garnered from the song outweigh any monetary compensation Sarkodie could have offered him at the time.
“Sarkodie didn’t compensate me for ‘Trumpet,’ but the song provided me with countless opportunities that are far more valuable than any monetary sum he could have given me. Even though it has been seven years since the song’s release, whenever I perform anywhere in Ghana, if I don’t include that song, they won’t let me leave the stage, and I am grateful for that. So, even if Sarkodie offered me 20 billion cedis in royalties, comparing it to the opportunities I’ve gained from the song, I don’t believe it would have a significant impact on me,” he remarked.
So Sarkodie never paid these guys for the trumpet song ???

In response to Koo Ntakra’s remarks, some netizens labeled Sarkodie as stingy, despite the musician from KofTown acknowledging Sarkodie’s stature.
