Jake Paul has received a stark warning about Mike Tyson’s enduring power, even in retirement.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer is slated to take on the heavyweight boxing icon Tyson in a controversial bout on July 20 in Texas.
Despite Tyson’s age and retirement in 2005, he demonstrated his formidable punching ability in a 2020 exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. Even Jones attested to Tyson’s strength, describing the impact of Tyson’s punches as akin to being kicked by a mule.
Jones emphasized that Tyson’s power could pose a significant challenge for Paul, especially considering Paul’s relative inexperience in facing such forceful blows.
While seasoned fighters like Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis may withstand such hits, Jones expressed doubts about Paul’s ability to do so.
Jake Paul, who is known for his remarkable body transformations, has reportedly bulked up significantly for the upcoming bout.
According to boxing legend Mosley, one of Paul’s trainers, Paul now weighs around 230 pounds, marking a substantial increase from his previous fights.
If Mosley’s assessment is accurate, Paul will enter the ring at approximately 16 stone 4 pounds, two stone heavier than his last fight.
This transformation indicates Paul’s dedication and preparation for the challenge posed by Tyson.
As the date of the fight draws nearer, anticipation continues to mount for this clash between two unconventional figures in the boxing world.
